Wish we were still in Maine. We always loved catching the race whenever it came through.

This is the first year I have ever seen this. Very Cool! One question, Do you HAVE TO put all those stickers on your ride to participate?

Hey, T.G.R., my daughter and I went to Providence for the days finish yesterday. What a fabulous event you folks organize!! It brings out a great crowd of people. The teams really are "AMAZING" ! To race day after day, keep the cars running, and on time is quite a feat!! Thanks for all your efforts!! I first heard about you when Interstate Battery ran the race, so glad I could finally attend a finish line event!!!!

At 2:19 in the background is a Great American Race car formerly Frank and David Kleptz 1912 Haynes. Check out the 1988 race (5 minute clip on youtube somewhere I think) where a collision with a car literally tore the frame apart. The team worked all night and finished the race. They won the spirit of the event award that year.

Saw the mustang and the blue coupe on trailers today 6/18/24 in New Albany indiana right across the bridge from louisville ky. Drive safe folks

I am looking for the 1983 race video. I have seen it on YT but the owner made it private. My uncle was interviewed at the very beginning.

Wild you guys make 600k+ per year on one event. 6500 just for one team? LOL. I can get a 2 week course at Team O'neill and do proper rally for that money. LOL and the organizers end up winning... what a sham.

It used to be cool with antique cars. I might run with my 2019 Colorado pickup.

It's only my opinion, but its guys(or women) that have the most fun win! The team that wins are they required to sit out the next year. Just à casual observer here. 2026 is the 100th Anniversary of Route 66 it would truly be a Great American Race to follow the origional route of "The Mother Road"!

I cannot believe so many championship category challengers are getting so many "Ace" Stickers! How is it possible? However, these cars are so cool!

I have a question, sir. I am a Japanese driver and would like to have a try on your Great Race. Co-driver will read these pace notes, however, he or she is to read a time to set the time 12:00:00 (on a Column 1), then move to go to a 1st leg starting line, checking instruntion on Column 2-B&C ---on a cross road on "Beach street and Shore Rd: Reading an explanation that (ex.:20m 30sd later you will start from the official start line. After that, co-driver tells "run 30miles per hour for 30 seconds, etc., isn't it? Here I have a question. (Maybe we need a (1)watch or a handy-sized clock to set on the dashboard (2)stop watch --- can we use a stop watch or a timer in a smart phone, or an analogue or digital stop watch? I heard we cannot use odometer, but is it possible my car has a trip meter? Big problem it may happen is, some cars don't have any trip meters. (ex. Subaru 360 does not have any trip meter, only she has an odometer only.) What should I do?

I loved the video, agree that I wish it was longer. I feel it would be better with less music or even no music so we could hear the cars at speed and the interviews.

Hi from Sendai (Sending Love "ai" City), North Eastern Japan, the Birthplace where the first Symmetrical All Wheel Drive Car produce by Subaru. I am now finding a car available to have a try on your race. I am hearing this historic car race is so tough, so I am asking if I can get a help to fix a car to drive. I am planning to drive Subaru 360 with my former student in a high school specially to be a car mechanic. Trying this race in itself is really hard from Japan, however, to meet my American parents who passed away in Ohio. I want meet their kids.

Make no mistake. This was the last 6 cylinder Buick until the 1961 Special. Buick was an 8 cylinder car, from 1931 on, and only 8 cylinder, and no other number, until 1961 but still mostly 8 for a long time after.
